Fit for a Queen
A dessert fit for a Queen
This year sees the UK celebrate 70 years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and at The Ingham Swan and The Wildebeest we’ll be joining in as Chef Patron Daniel Smith presents his ‘National Treasure’ Dessert on our A La Carte and Taster Menus in honour of Her Majesty’s service to her country.
Daniel appeared on TV’s Great British Menu in 2016 when the theme was ‘Great Britons’ and the competitors were challenged to take inspiration from the transformation in British food throughout The Queen’s historic reign and to recognise the achievements of Her Majesty’s Great Britons - ordinary people recognised with an Honour for going ‘above and beyond’ for their community, their charity or their country. Daniel was inspired to create a modern dessert emulating their achievements and diners can now choose his very special Great British Menu Dessert in honour of Her Majesty throughout the month of June at The Ingham Swan and The Wildebeest.
Raspberry Set Cream, Champagne Jelly, Tarragon Poached Peaches, Pistachio Snow, Raspberry & Crème Fraiche Sorbet, Peach Bellini
The dish is a modern interpretation of the classic Peach Melba and includes a British ‘National Treasure’ - Peaches are a favoured fruit of the Queen.
Daniel says “The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is an important milestone and celebration for the whole country and I am pleased to be able to use my special dessert from my time on BBC 2’s Great British Menu and bring it onto our restaurant menus throughout June. It’s a personal favourite of mine and I very much hope our customers will give it their seal of approval too.”
