So what exactly is a ‘Taster Menu’?

Some say ‘Taster Menu’ and some say ’Tasting Menu’ but what is it and why should you try it?  The idea of Taster Menus dates back many, many years but became ‘mainstream’ in the 1990s, evolving into a showcase to highlight the culinary artistry of the Chef (incredibly some have been known to feature anything up to 40 courses!).  

A Taster Menu is a collection of dishes that are served to diners in smaller portions – to maybe sample a specific type of cuisine or a ‘house’ speciality.

 A Taster Menu is always available at The Wildebeest and – of course – the dishes change regularly, with each course created in the kitchen by our skilled chefs.  Taster Menus are becoming increasingly popular and many of our diners now choose this option.
