It’s Valentine’s Day this weekend and time to treat the one you love.  Thinking of chocolates and wine?  How about making it yourself instead – that’s sure to impress!

Here’s our handmade chocolates recipe (it’s really simple – but delicious).  Put them into a pretty box tied with ribbon to make them look really special.

 Valentine’s Chocolate Truffles

 150g good quality chocolate (50%-60% cocoa content is ideal)

75 ml double cream


·         Carefully melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering           water (don’t let the water touch the bottom of the bowl).

·         Stir in the double cream and chill mixture in the fridge.

·         Scoop a teaspoon of mixture and shape into a ball.

·         Dust with cocoa

 As for the wine – how about mixing a favourite cocktail instead and adding your own special ice cubes.  Try making them using a good quality elderflower water or maybe pureed raspberries.  Served in a fancy glass and maybe even adding an edible flower or two!
